Student Ambassadors Help Tell the Story of Public Health & Society

Student Ambassadors serve as public-facing representatives of Public Health & Society. This position combines public speaking, digital storytelling, and event planning. Make a meaningful contribution to the program while building valuable professional skills!

This is a paid student employment opportunity.

What Do Student Ambassadors Do?

No two weeks look exactly the same for a Student Ambassador.

Throughout the year, Student Ambassadors work on a variety of projects designed to connect students with Public Health & Society. Last year's Student Ambassadors:

  • Created content for the Public Health & Society Instagram account
  • Spoke directly to fellow WashU students while tabling at the DUC
  • Participated in interviews for the Public Health & Society website
  • Designed, distributed, and analyzed a student survey
  • Organized events during National Public Health Week

More Than Social Media

While creating Instagram content is an important part of the role, the Student Ambassador Program is about much more than social media.

Student Ambassadors help students understand what Public Health & Society is, why it matters, and how it connects to their future goals. Whether speaking with students, helping plan a campus event, or creating a video that explains one of our courses, Student Ambassadors play a key role in shaping how students experience the program.

Looking Ahead to This Year

The 2026-2027 Ambassador cohort will continue many of the program's established activities while also taking on new projects.

Student Ambassadors will speak in classes, represent Public Health & Society at campus events, create short-form video content, and help organize community-building activities. They will work closely with faculty and staff while helping showcase the people, courses, and experiences that make Public Health & Society unique.
